Rhubarb Radio is Your Station Your Music for the Wakefield District Dewsbury & Batley, broadcasting online, on your mobile and tablet with our free app, and on smart speakers by saying “play Rhubarb Radio on tune in.” We will soon be also broadcasting on DAB.
Rhubarb Radio was named after the rhubarb triangle, famous for growing forced rhubarb across the area we serve, and we are at the heart of the community.
The station launched in 2017, and is based at our superb studio complex in the heart of Wakefield, and is all about the community we serve. From news, information, community features, business news, and the latest advice and support, whatever is going on across the area, you will hear it on Rhubarb Radio.
Our Outside Broadcast unit and “street team” are our on the road at events across the area, broadcasting live and supporting our local communities from galas, events like the Rhubarb Festival, major promotions at Christmas, Easter, and summer, and business events like Wakefield Business week.
We broadcast 24/7 playing the biggest songs from the 70’s to today, with a team of around 20 dedicated presenters who are all volunteers and have a passion for the Wakefield District Dewsbury & Batley. They broadcast great entertainment, competitions, chat, and features in their shows.
We are always on the lookout for new presenters, tech support, or promotion team members, so please get in touch if you are interested and fancy developing a career in radio.
