Rhubarb Radio was named after the rhubarb triangle, famous for growing rhubarb in and around the area we serve. We are at the heart of Wakefield city centre and we are here to bring the community together.
The station launched in 2017, and is based at our superb studio complex in the heart of Wakefield.

We are YOUR LOCAL Radio station for the Wakefield District. From news, Local information, community features, business news and the latest advice and support, whatever is going on across the district, you will hear it on Rhubarb Radio.

Our Outside Broadcast unit and “street team” are our on the road at events across the area, broadcasting live and supporting our local communities from galas, events like the Rhubarb Festival, major promotions at Christmas, Easter, and summer.
We broadcast 24/7 playing the biggest songs from the 70’s to today, with a team of around 20 dedicated presenters who are all volunteers and have a passion for the Wakefield District. The shows are full with great entertainment, competitions, chat and features, you will be hooked!
We are always on the lookout for new members of the team from Presenters and Tech Support to Events Team and Sales Staff, so please get in touch if you are interested and fancy developing a career in radio.
